FEEL THE BEAT

Join Uisce Álainn Sligo for a rhythmic journey on the Garavogue River and Lough Gill. A participatory distance Picnic Paddle for Dragon Boats, Kayakers, and Rowers—promoting Blue Mental Health, educating about Water Safety, and our Vibrant River Ecosystem.

• 11:00-11:15 Warm-up
• 11:15-11:30 Safety brief
• 11:30-12:00 Load boats to rally at Doorly Pk  pontoon start line 
• 12:00-12:30 Awaken the Dragon & Flower Ceremony
• 12:30-17:30 Approx, Picnic Paddle on the water, Garavogue river, Lough Gill
• 17:30-18:00 Boats out & trailers loaded
• 18:30-21:00 Approx, food & live music with Hughie Lowry on The Rose of Innisfree Tourboat berthed at the stage pontoon

Note: 14-18 paddlers per Dragon Boat Team

PADDLING FOR UNITY

We invite you to join Uisce Álainn Sligo, a participatory distance picnic paddle that brings our community together on the majestic Garavogue River and Lough Gill.

Led by Medb’s Dragon Warriors, this event is a celebration of unity and resilience, open to experienced Dragon Boat paddlers, L2+ Kayakers, and Rowers alike.

It is more than an event; it is a shared journey of remembrance and connection.

The Uisce Álainn event is a celebration of beautiful waters, biodiversity and community spirit, featuring people-powered watercraft including dragon boats, kayaks, and rowboats.

As organisers and participants, we are committed to safeguarding biodiversity, supporting environmental stewardship, and aligning our actions with the 'Sport 4 Nature' initiative. This policy outlines our dedication to protecting local ecosystems, promoting sustainability, and fostering collaboration with leading conservation organisations.

EARLY BIRD ENTRY €45 UNTIL APRIL 13TH

Join us on the Garavogue River. We welcome experienced Dragon Boat paddlers, L2+ Kayakers, and rowers to our community circle. For all enquiries or to register a Dragon Boat team (14-18 paddlers), please reach out via email.
